WHT August 2008 Update
Since our last update in May, WHT has been very busy.

Sean Herbert and the engineering team have been working very hard on the WH411 and WH421 machines. The engine of the demonstration helicopter has been completely overhauled and upgraded, giving it a power boost and a great new look. The body of the demonstration machine has been re-built with more space for better access.

Our research into technical developments has resulted in significant improvements to our design and costing models. Our patents have been upgraded, with a new patent lodged and new design patents in place.

Our design team has also been busy, developing body shapes, interior layouts and technical drawings for our new generation helicopters.

On the business planning and budgeting models, we have determined a new pathway for commercialisation of the helicopters.  The costings have been completely researched and substantiated, as have our projected sales revenue numbers.

Through the development and engineering processes, and through our extensive financial analysis, we have determined that the primary strategy for commercialisation will revolve around:

  • Development and sales of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)

Firstly, the UAV market has been researched, with no comparable machines available.  This option is a most cost efficient and market driven option that allows WHT to quickly penetrate a viable market and generate revenue.

  • Development of a high-end, although affordable, 5 seat, turbine engine driven, WH451 helicopter.

Secondly, by choosing the best available and already certified turbine engine, WHT can develop a competitive 5 seat helicopter, with premium features and functionality; but priced well below the competitors in this market. The costing structures and comparative pricing make this course of action more feasible in the short and longer terms.

  • Accelerated development of the Electric Motor option for UAV and 2 seat helicopters.

Thirdly, and most interesting is the development of the electric vehicle option; WHT has identified and secured the best electric power unit, AC controller system and suitable batteries to make the WHT electric helicopter a reality.
